Description
On 20 December 2010, Bwin, a listed online gaming provider, announced a merger with the British online gaming company PartyGaming, thereby making at least 100 of its 800 employees redundant.
A part of the dismissals should take the form of natural attrition. The jobs are to be transferred from the Vienna Bwin headquarters to PartyGaming's headquarter in Gibraltar. Currently, some 500 out of the 800 employees are IT workers. The merger is to be finalised by the end of the first quarter 2011.
