Description

On 16th December, Presse Informatique, a subsidiary of the Team Partners Group (2000 employees) which provides subscription based information to newspapers, announced the closure of its plant in Cauvigny (Oise) within three months. Of the 390 employees at the site, 180 will be dismissed. The company that was in receivership since October 5 wants to transfer the remaining 210 employees to its other plant in Chantilly (Oise), 35 km south of Cauvigny. In addition 56 jobs from a total of 96 will simultaneously disappear in Chantilly. In total the company expects to lose 236 jobs, irrespective of the number of workers opting to transfer to its plant in Chantily. In 2006 Presse Informatique decided to decentralise its operations by relocating 50% of its activities from Cauvigny to Morocco and Madagscar. At that time the plant made 600 posts redundant.
