On December 14th, Siemens IT Solutions and Services announced its intention to reduce its workforce by 1,750, including 650 in Germany, to prepare for integration with Atos Origin. This follows an announcement from Atos Origin and Siemens of their intention to form a global strategic partnership. Siemens will support Atos Origin in taking the necessary steps in integrating with Siemens IT Solutions and Services, in order to generate substantial synergies in the near future. Siemens has agreed to contribute up to €250 million to the integration and training costs.
