Description
On 25 December, German retail chain LIDL opened fourteen hypermarkets across the country and created 1,200 new jobs. The new stores are located in Sofia, Stara, Zagora, Sliven, Plovdiv, Petrich, Pazardjik, Montana, Lovech, Kardjali, Varna and Gabrovo.
The German company has invested EUR 130 million in Bulgaria, said Minister of Regional Development Rosen Plevneliev. The investment is expected to increase to EUR 300 million.
According to Milena Dragiyska, manager of LIDL Bulgaria, the number of people employed will increase with the opening of new stores. The company will have between 20 and 25 stores in Bulgaria by February 2011.
