Description

ORF, the Austrian public broadcasting organisation, has announced that it is to cut up to 150 jobs until the end of 2012.

This was documented in the organisation's draft budget for 2011 which was forwarded to members of the ORF board of trustees and is supposed to be confirmed by them on 16 December 2010. ORF needs to cut its personnel costs and plans to achieve an operating profit of EUR 300,000 in 2011. The organisation has returned to profitability in 2010 again after incurring losses in 2009.

No information is available on what form of measures the personnel reduction will take (direct dismissals vs. other job reduction measures).
