Description
Arriva (Malta) - a consortium formed from Arriva Deutschland a subsidiary of the German multinational Deutsche Bahn and Tumas Group - has sealed a ten year agreement with the Maltese government to be Malta's main public transport service provider. Arriva (Malta) shall invest €40 million and plans to employ 1,100 workers, which is more than double the number currently employed in the public transport sector.
The agreement between Arriva and Transport Malta was signed on Saturday 20th of November thus marking the beginning of a new bus service which start operating on July 3rd 2011.
