Description

Tyne and Wear Fire Brigade has announced plans to cut 170 jobs in a bid to make 25% budget savings following the government spending review. The brigade has pledged to try to avoid compulsory redundancies and plans to protect front line staff therefore focusing reductions on back room functions. As of 22 Novemebr 2010 no date has been given for the implementation of the cuts.
