European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The textile manufacturer FMAC in Esposende which belongs to the Quinta e Costa group, announced collective dismissals affecting 111 workers. However, according to the President of the textile trade union of Minho and Trás-os-Montes, the management failed to comply with some legal requirements in the collective dismissal process. For some older workers it may be difficult to find a new job.
