Description

On 28 September 2010, Vltavský mlýn, a Paper mill located in Loučovice, closed down its premises and all 220 workers were left unemployed. The firm has been undergoing insolvency since 2008. The employees of the mill were not paid for the last two months. According to economic experts, the collapse was caused by competition from Poland and northern European countries. The mill was the main employment source in the Loučovice village.
