Pharmaceutical manufacturer Pfizer announced its intention to invest €61 million in its sites in Puurs and Zaventem (Flanders). This investment will result in the creation of 170 new jobs. Some 100 jobs will be created in the Puurs branch with a view to launching a production line focusing on making new complex types of syringes. Another 70 jobs for senior researchers will be created at the site in Zavantem which will host the veterinary medicine activities being moved there from Sandwich (UK).
