Description

Finnish energy company Fortum is to outsource 120 persons from its electricity network services in Finland to Eltel and Empower, this decision will be effective on  1.11.2010.

The outsourcing pertains to Electricity Solutions and Distribution division and includes installation, maintenance, and planning of electricity networks. The company states that it wants to focus on the division's core functions, which include planning, building, and use of networks. Of the 120 persons, 80 will move to Empower and 40 to Eltel. Outsourcing affects various locations in Finland. Total employment in the division has been about 1700 persons (2009).
