Finnish paper and paperboard manufacturer M-Real is cutting 44 jobs from its Äänekoski paper mill.
The company cites attempts to improve its profitability as the basis for the reductions. Staff reductions will be completed by the end of 2011. The unit produces high-quality coated paper.
Company and the city of Äänekoski are exploring other employment for workers who will be dismissed. The company is investing in another unit in Äänekoski. This investment will be concluded during the summer 2011.
