European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
On 30 September 2010 Szegedi Fonalfeldolgozó Zrt. (SZEFO) announced plans to hire 100 new employees at its plant in Szeged, Hungary.
The factory is looking for sewing, cutting, dryer and production line workers. 80% of the workers at this state owned textile company are disabled. The business expansion became possible due to the changes in the government support policy, the company's strengthening market position after the crisis, and the start-up of the series production with nano silver- technology. The company mainly produces fashion and knitwear products. The main partner is Italian company Dama SpA, but it also has a contract with the Legrand Group for the production of power distribution control equipment. The company uses antimicrobial silver, nano-silver technology, to produce anti-bacterial fabrics and outerwear products, this procedure was developed jointly by the staff of the University of Szeged.
