Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 24 September 2010 Asia Food Kft announced their plan to build a noodle factory in Verpelét, Hungary, which will employ 150-200 workers by mid 2011. The French owned company produces frozen Chinese noodle products. Most of the products will be exported to Italy and France.
The local government offered the 5400 square meter former barrack for the generous price of 3.4 Euro/m2, in order to encourage development. The municipality of Heves has an 18% unemployment rate, but this new investment could increase employment and attract more business to the region.
Update 23.03.2012: The company announced the start of production with 70 employees from 1 April 2012, and will hire further 180 employees until he end of 2012.
