Description
Pharmaceutical multinational Schering-Plough has announced 160 redundancies at its west Cork plant as a result of a cost-cutting programme. Schering-Plough, which is now part of the Merck multinational, currently employs 519 staff at the site. The redundancies are due to occur on a voluntary phased basis over the next three years. Management said it hoped the cost-cutting plan would secure the plant's future.
