Description
18 August 2010 the Danish producer of windmills announced that 300 employees in production were to be made redundant. After three days of obligatory negotiations, this number was reduced to 154. In return, 730 employees were put in work-sharing which is more than initially planned.
Layoffs are divided between blade producers in Lem, Viborg and Skagen (all Jutland). In Lem, 55 are dismissed instead of 60 and 34 employees were redeployed. In Viborg, the number of layoffs were negotiated from 115 to 76, and in Skagen 23 will be dismissed rather than 29 as originally announced.
Vestas has 20.000 employees worldwide. There is no information on the number employed in Denmark.
