European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Amazon.fr, the French subsidiary of American specialist in e-commerce Amazon.com (26,000 employees) implanted its second distribution platform in France in Montelimar (Drôme). The Platform will start recruiting the first of several hundred employees in the late August. "We are working in close collaboration with the employment public services (Pôle emploi) to recruit several hundred people before the end of the year," says Xavier Garambois, president of Amazon.
Update 25.11.2010: The company is reported to have recruited 250 people and is expecting to double this number by the end of the year.
