Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Engineering consultant Sweco has already recruited 200 engineers in Sweden in 2010 and the company plans to recruit an additional 300 before the end of the year. The need for new employees is the greatest in the areas in and around the three major cities, where numerous large infrastructure projects are being initiated. The business areas in great need of new workers are infrastructure, installations, project management and energy. Sweco is, as a result, expecting to post a new record high employment level by bettering its 5,500 staff in 2008.
Sweco specialises in qualified services in the field of consulting engineering, environmental technology and architecture. At the present time the company has 5,100 employees in Sweden.
