Atria Eesti's closure of their plant in Ahja resulted in 73 job losses.
In January, Atria Eesti announced that restructuring of their company was to result in shutting down the plant in Ahja, Põlva county. According to the announcement, production was transferred to other plants in the region. The Unemployment Insurance Fund recently confirmed that this resulted in 73 persons being made redundant out of a total of 530 employees at the company.
According to media reports, the restructuring plan that included the plant's closure was designed to cut expenses by about EUR 1 million.
