The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Tirrenia, the state-owned ship company, is to cut 250 employees. According to the company, the job cuts are necessary to reach a good solution in the privatization process of the company, which has started some months ago.
Tirrenia offers connections with the main Italian islands and the minor Sicilian islands throughout the year. It has a fleet of 72 ships and around 1,500 employees.
