Longbenton Foods, a producer of frozen food products, has announced plans to create 180 jobs in North Tyneside. The factory had closed down after a major fire but resumed production in January 2010 with a workforce of about 60. The company operates in a competitive industry and it now has a positive outlook on growth. No specific date has been given for the 180 additional jobs but the company said that new staff would be employed over the next months.
