European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Alcoa Howmet, a producer of turbine blades, has announced plans to cut 200 about jobs in Exeter. The cuts are blamed on falling demand. The union Unite said it would suggest pay cuts or short-time working to try and avoid as many cuts as possible. As of May 2010, no date has been announced for the implementation of the cuts.
