Computer game company EA has announced that it is to establish a customer service and operations centre in Galway. EA has already commenced the recruitment process and has said that the new operation is expected to generate 200 jobs in Galway by the end of 2011. The new centre will develop online computer games and support for customers.
Until this announcement, EA has had no presence in the Irish market. Ireland's Industrial Development Agency (IDA) Chief Executive says it adds to Ireland's growing reputation as a centre for internet activity in Europe. EA is based in California, and has sites in Sweden, Germany, Romania and Spain.
