Description

Ajasto Eesti, a factory manufacturing calendars owned by a Finnish company Ajasto OY, has announced it is closing its plant in May 2010 and making all of its 104 employees redundant.

According to the comments from company representatives, the closure is due to the financial difficulties of the mother company. Until now, most of the calendars for Ajasto Diary Group were manufactured in Estonia and sold mostly in Nordic countries. As a result of the shift in ownership of the company, the calendars will now be manufactured in Germany.

The Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund has organised an informing seminar in the company to provide the necessary information to persons who have received notice of redundancy. Employees have been offered counselling on searching for a new job plus financial matters and provided information of job offers available.
