Description

On 5 May 2010, the steel company ArcelorMittal has announced to the European Works Council, an outsourcing project of the software services infrastructure Europe affecting about 600 employees mainly in France (162), Romania (92), Poland (76), Belgium (71), Spain (62), Czech Republic (58), Luxemburg (44), Germany (17) and Italy (7).

ArcelorMittal has taken a similar decision last year for the accounting activities which were offshored to Poland and India. These IT Jobs could be relocated either in other EU countries or India. Six firms will be requested to express their interest in this outsourcing operation: Hewlett-Packard, IBM, HCL, CSC, Wipro and Capgemini. The company will take its final decision in late September or early October.
