Description
It has been announced that 135 jobs are to go at Irish Cement. Seventy jobs are to be lost at its site in Limerick, with a further 65 redundancies in County Meath. The job losses follow voluntary redundancies of 30 per cent of the workforce announced in 2009. According to the company, the restructuring plan is necessary due to a fall off in demand. Irish Cement said it was engaging in further dialogue with both unions and employees.
