Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
According to Dnevnik 4 June 2010, Iskraemeco, a provider of devices and systems for electric energy measuring, laid of workers is 138 in September 2010. The company blames the job losses on the economic downturn. Before implementing redundancy measures the company employed 1,100 employees.
Update:
According to Delo 2 February 2010, the reduction of employment has in fact been larger than previously planned. At end January 2011, Iskremeco had 900 employees, meaning that 200 employees lost jobs.
