Description
Poceram, a pottery factory located in Cernache (Coimbra) announced the closure of its factory with the loss of 153 jobs. The closure is justified by the failure of a proposal from a potential investor. The plant has been inactive since April 2009. According to the trade union of Ceramic Industries this decision was already expected given the high investment needed to save the company. The trade union also fears that the company will not be able to cover wages already owed along with compensation due to the workers.
