European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Swedish furniture retailer Ikea plans to vcreate 480 new jobs at a €70-million new store in Loures. The new IKEA store, the third in Portugal and the largest in the Iberian Peninsula, should be open by June 2010. The Loures Council representatives believes that this project will strengthen environment economic tire of the municipality especially in this period of severe economic crisis and unemployment. The excellent accessibility and proximity to the airport were some of the main reasons for the choice of Frielas as the location for the new store.
