Description
Bialetti, one of the leading Italian manufacturers of coffee makers, is to close one of its older plants, which is located at Omegna, in the province of Verbania. The closure will affect 120 workers. The production will be delocalised to an eastern European countries. According to the company, the cost saving plan is mainly due to the recent fall in demand and the increasing global competition. The trade unions disagreed with the move and requested the involvement of the national and local authorities in order to avoid the closure.
