Description
Steel production company Corus has announced it is to create 160 jobs in South Yorkshire; 110 at its Stocksbridge site and 50 at its Rotherham site. Only last year the company made 2000 job cuts across the UK due to a reduced demand, however conditions have recently improved. Corus is also considering the feasibility of transferring staff in from its recently mothballed Redcar plant. Peter Hogg, from Corus, said: "It is important that we do what we can to retain as many skilled workers as possible." No information was given regarding the recruitment timeline or how many people the company currently employs over all.
