Teleperformance, the Italian subsidiary of the French group Teleperformance (supplier of telemarketing services and CRM solutions), is to cut 1,000 jobs at its sites of Rome (300 job cuts) and Taranto (700 job cuts). In Italy, the company has around 3,200 employees.
The employers' associations and the sectoral trade unions are going to meet the Ministry of Economic Development in order to find adequate solutions to strengthen the enforcement of the laws against the companies which provides the same services in illegal ways (in the underground economy).
In May 2010, the company and the trade unions, with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development, reached an agreement on the recourse to the job-security agreement in order to avoid the job-cuts. The job-security agreement will last one year.
