Description
Poczta Polska, the national postal operator that employs 94000 people, will lay off at least 1100 employees in 2010, mainly from its centralized units for infrastructure, finance and the post office centre. A board member said that the number of job reductions in the cost-cutting programme might be as high as 1880.
The aforementioned numbers have not been agreed upon with trade unions. One of the trade union representatives, Bogumil Nowicki from NSZZ "Solidarnosc" said that they have been told about the dismissals but were also informed that the number of people to be laid off is not negotiable.
