Description

Postbank, a bank jointly owned by Irish state owned postal company An Post and French bank BNP Paribas, has announced that it is to close by the end of 2010. Postbank employs 260 staff, mainly in a customer contact centre and post offices across the country that provide banking services. Postbank has stated that it hopes a 'significant proportion' of jobs can be saved, but precise details are yet to emerge. The organisation operates banking, savings and investments, and insurance services in almost 1,000 post offices across the country.
