European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Philips has announced the closure of its plasma screen production site in Dreux where 212 workers are employed. After a first announcement had been made in October 2009, this was confirmed on 13 February 2010. The announcement was followed by strikes and lockouts.
According to a trade union representative, employees have been offered 12 month fixed-term contracts in a Philips site in Hungary.
