Description

Devon and Cornwall Police Force have announced that 180 jobs will be lost by the end of March 2013, with the first 60 to be cut by March 2011. Budget cuts are blamed for the downsizing, with the force needing to save £14m over three years, but they are less than the 300 that Chief Constable Stephen Otter had originally predicted. Stephen Tovagliari, from Devon and Cornwall Police Federation said 'morale is quite low [for rank and file members] at the moment - there's concern and anxiety about what's going to happen'.
