Description
Dekorsy Ipari és Kereskedelmi, a plastic component manufacturer for the car industry, went bankrupt and 300 jobs were lost in Sopron. The job losses are blamed on the decline in orders and the insolvency of its German mother company Dekorsy.
Around 100 employees had been dismissed previously to counterbalance the negative impact of the global economic downturn on the car manufacturing industry. The downsizing was carried out by not renewing expired contracts.
By summer 2009, however, it had become clear that the company would be unable to secure a sufficient amount of orders which would permit its continued functioning. Consequently, the company underwent a liquidation process and dismissed its remaining 200 workers in the framework of a mass redundancy scheme.
The Sopron (Győr-Sopron county) based company was established in 1998 and produced injection moulded plastic parts for the car industry.
