Lufthansa announced to accelerate its cost saving programme in Europe because of a decline in regional traffic. By March 2010, 19 out of 34 airplanes of Lufthansa's company Eurowing will be grounded. This will affect several hundred administrative, technical and flight services jobs, FTD says. On 25 January Bayrischer Rundfunk reports a Eurowing spokesperson saying that 600 jobs are at risk to be cut. Of these 300 jobs shall be shed at Nuremberg - 170 administrative jobs, 70 technical jobs, 60 pilots and 90 flight attendants.
