European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Regency, a textile factory, installed in Caminha since 20 years ago, announced the bankruptcy. The measure will affect 174 workers mainly women aged over 40 years old. According to the coordinator of the Textile Trade Union of Minho and Trás-os-Montes, the administration of that plant, which belongs to a multinational with Indian capital, claimed economic and financial difficulties, translated into a debt of 3.2 million euro. Due to a decrease in the orders, Regency was already in lay-off since last June.
