Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The University of Copenhagen announced 26 November 2009 that up to 130 employees will be made redundant and will be given notice by the end of January 2010. It is not yet decided which departments will be affected and to what extent. According to the Head of Communication, Mr Jasper Steen Winkel, the lay-offs are due to cutbacks in university funding. University of Copenhagen has approximately 8,000 employees.
