Description

Recticel, a manufacturer of polyurethane foam products, will restructure its manufacturing activities in Wetteren and has announced plans to cut 110 jobs. The reason for the restructuring is the crisis in the automotive sector. Specifically, the contract of the firm to supply car manufacturer Mercedes with dashboard skins comes to an end in 2010 and will not be renewed. Mercedes has explicitly asked for these components to be supplied from a single site in Germany as of 2011. This request was based on quality aspects, other technical criteria and the need to save on logistics expenses, according to a Recticel company press release.
