Description
Betting firm Ladbrokes has announced that it plans to close its Aintree call centre with the loss of up to 263 jobs. The company has blamed strong competition from offshore rivals for its fall in revenue and the requirement to make job cuts.
Ladbrokes is negotiating with employee representatives, including Usdaw trade union representatives, and has announced that it will offer redeployment and relocation opportunities to minimise redundancies.
No time scale for the closure has been given.
