Mondadori is to cut 604 jobs by the end of 2011. According to the company, the cost-cutting plan is due to the negative effects of current economic crisis on the publishing market. The workforce reduction is to be implemented through other job reduction measures than direct dismissals such as early retirements, voluntary resignations, non-renewal of the temporary contracts.
