Description

Agile is to cut 1,192 jobs out of 1,880 employees. In June 2009, Eutelia transferred one of its business branches (Agile Servizi) to the Omega group, which has around 10,000 employees in Italy. The job cuts would affect all the Agile's sites (located at Rome, Naples, Turin, Ivrea and Pregnana Milanese).

The trade unions reacted to the company' decision by going out on strike. Since July 2009, all the Agile workers have not received their salary. Also for this reason, some of them have occupied some sites (for instance, at Pregnana Milanese, Rome and Ivrea), in order to protest against the company's decisions. The workers and the trade unions have requested the involvement of national authorities.

Agile has 1,880 employees in Italy and offers IT services.

As reported, Italy has applied for assistance from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF).
