The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The shipping company HH-Ferries, which provides short sea shipping and ferry services between Helsingør in Denmark and Helsingborg in Sweden, is to dismiss 100 crew members on the ferries and on shore (representing half of its workforce). This was announced by the line office in Helsingør on 7 October 2009. The reason given for the redundancies is the strong competition from the bridge, Øresundsbroen, between Copenhagen and Malmø and the unfavorable market situation due to global recession.
