Akzo Nobel, one of the major producer of paint manufacturer, is to close its plant located at Fombio, in the province of Lodi, with the loss of 185 jobs.
The trade unions reacted to the company's decision by going out on strike and blockading the plant's gates. Akzo Nobel is the largest global paints and coatings company. It has 58,000 employees in more than 80 countries.
