Description

Avia Ashok Leyland Motors, a Prague-based manufacturer of trucks, announced at least 1,500 job losses which have been implemented from January until October 2009. The job cuts are due to significant financial losses and the unfavourable market situation. More dismissals have not been ruled out. Prior to restructuring, the company employed 4,500 workers.
