The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The staff of publishing company Bertelsmann was informed by management that 130 out of 692 jobs will be shed at the headquarter in Gütersloh. The cuts of administrative jobs is part of a plan to save EUR 25mn at the headquarter from 2009 onwards. It is part of a major programme to cut costs by EUE 900 mn.
Moreover, 20 administrative jobs will be shed at the New York and at the Bejing (China) office.
