100 of the currently 360 employees of the Austria Tabak (AT) plant in Hainburg (Lower Austria) will lose their job. This was announced by an AT representative on 1 September 2009. The planned redundancies are due to permanently decreasing order intakes. The restructuring shall be carried out as soon as possible. AT is fully owned by the Japan Tobacco Int. group, which aims to concentrate production on a few sites.
