European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Societatea Naţională a Lignitului Oltenia, a lignite mining company, announced the dismissal of 600 employees to take place in Târgu Jiu this Autumn. The measure is part of the larger closure of the company's lignite mining units by 2012. Presently, the company has approximately 9,000 employees.
